In 2014, I began Path2Wine as an outlet to share my personal experiences with wine. I was already working in the industry as an importer of South American wines and as my passion for wine grew I needed a place to share other wine tastings, California wine travels, etc. It also was when I was embarking on my wine education and on my own Path2Wine. Now with additional experiences and education in the wine industry, it's a business supporting wineries, companies in the wine industry and individuals trying to improve on their own Path2Wine.
Based in California, Courtney spends most of her days around wine. She works with wineries from around the world on expanding their presence in the United States. She leads presentations and wine education seminars for consumers, corporations and within the industry. She is President of the Women’s Wine Alliance, a nonprofit organization that advances the education of women wine professionals. Courtney is currently a Master of Wine student.
Courtney's Path2Wine began after a decade in the nonprofit sector, when she left to attend the wine immersion program at the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena. She left Napa for Mendoza, Argentina and began importing wines from South America. When she returned to California, she joined the Women's Wine Alliance and Society of Wine Educators; completed certifications in the Business of Wine at San Diego State University and in Wine Studies at University of California Irvine. While working in the wine industry, she saw a need for advanced wine certifications and holds the highest level of certification (Diploma) from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust based in London, WSET Sake Level 1 and both the Certified Specialist of Wine and Certified Specialist in Spirits from the Society of Wine Educators.
Prior to working in the wine industry, Courtney completed her master’s degree at University of San Diego. Her tourism classes as part of her undergraduate degree at Arizona State University have provided the foundation for working with wine tour operators, wineries and presenting at national and international tourism conferences.
